Soles 4 Change

Soles 4 Change started as a small idea in the back of my head one day while I was running. It suddenly occurred to me how many shoes we had (on a team of ninety, each runner averaging two pairs is about one hundred and eighty) and that got me thinking about what they would do when they were finished with those shoes. Since then I’ve collected more than 1,000 pairs of shoes that I have donated to the Brothers of Charity in downtown Los Angeles, Holy Family Parish in South Pasadena, Union Station in Pasadena, Haiti and other non-profit organizations. Soles 4 Change is a testament to small ideas getting big with imagination, hard work and persistence. I am really proud of the fact that my idea has helped so many other people, both in the US and abroad.
